Starting from this May, EnMaze Pictures, a New York-based film production and distribution company that focuses on delivering independent films, has been planning a global film tour to promote outstanding works created by US-educated Chinese film directors in North America and China. The five-US city road show departed from New York on October 9th and has travelled to Chicago, Boston, and San Francisco. After the closing screening in Los Angeles, it will eventually end in Beijing early next year.
Co-presented by USC Annenberg Film Marketing Association, the tour will host screenings at USC on Friday, November 7, 2014. It is a showcase of top-quality short films made by Chinese directors studying and living in the United States. Selected by a professional jury of prestigious film scholars and experts, including Richard Peña (former Program Director at Film Society of Lincoln Center), Hardy Justice (Senior VP of Maven Pictures) and Peggy Chiao (film producer and writer), the collection of 21 short films are from 93 submissions by student filmmakers at over 30 film schools around the United States.
